DescriptionThe long and arduous struggle for human and civil rights is a defining theme in the historical experiences of African people and their descendants in the Diaspora. Challenges to fundamental human and civil rights continue to manifest in multiple dimensions, and are still critical issues in the political, economic, and social realities of black people. Featuring thirteen original chapters contributed by scholars from both sides of the Atlantic, this book interrogates the complex dynamics of human dignity and rights within the global African context from a multidisciplinary perspective.
